SAVE THE DATE!
Orb's Community Bookshop is excited to announce the date of the Scottish Illustration Festival!
Thanks to generous grant funding from The National Lottery Awards for All Scotland Fund and Vattenfall Clashindarroch Wind Farm Community Fund (administered by Foundation Scotland) a festival of Scottish illustration will be taking place in Huntly, Aberdeenshire.
28th August to 9th September 2024
The festival will celebrate the latest in Scottish illustration and animation, with a fascinating exhibition and a varied programme of animation screenings and events for all ages.
Held in the heart of the historic and beautiful market town of Huntly in rural Aberdeenshire, we will also be marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Huntly-born writer George MacDonald, known as the father of fantasy fiction.
An exhibition will explore the story of George MacDonald, his family and his children’s stories through the work of 48 illustrators who created artwork for his books from the 1860’s to the modern day.
The festival will be family-friendly and fully accessible.
